Answers you can check.
Bring your own material to PHNTM One, ask a question, then inspect the source. Local document search is useful; it is not infallible.
1. Bring a file over your home network
On the device, open Data & Privacy → PHNTM Drop for its exact address and QR code. Open it from a phone or computer on the same home network and drag in PDF, text, Markdown, JPEG or PNG files. They are read and indexed on the device.
The current OCR defaults allow photos up to 8 MB and 12 megapixels, and scanned PDFs up to 60 pages. These are implementation limits from the accepted source, not a guarantee that every file will process successfully. Text-file and ordinary PDF limits are not established here; follow the upload page’s validation.
2. Ask about the material
Use Private mode to keep the AI answer local. Ask a focused question about a file you added. Optional cloud answers can include retrieved document excerpts; connected messaging services have their own paths.
“What does the lease say about notice before moving out?”
This is an example prompt, not a recorded device answer. Allow time for indexing and generation. If the answer lacks useful source support, open the file and check it yourself.
3. Check the references
Answers can include file/page references when retrieved passages support the answer. Open the cited source and check the surrounding text. A citation is a route back to the evidence, not proof that an answer is correct. OCR can misread scans and handwriting; it recognizes text rather than understanding the whole scene.
4. Remove what you choose
Delete files in Library → Documents to remove them from the active vault and index. Earlier backups, exports or copies on your other devices must be managed separately. Updates, export and reset remain a separate guide.
