A voice assistant in a family home hears a lot. PHNTM One takes a different approach: there's no wake word at all. The mic is live only when someone taps it, while the dot is red, for 15 seconds at most, and speech is turned into text on the device.
How families use it
- Reminders that speak up on time, one-off or recurring: "every Monday, water the plants".
- A shared memory for the household: "remember the Wi-Fi password for the guest network is on the fridge", and later, "what did we decide about the summer trip?"
- Chat from your phone anywhere in the house, with no app to install. Scan the code on the screen once.
- Questions, answered by the model on the device rather than a distant server.
Honest limits
It isn't a smart-home hub or a music speaker, and it doesn't hear you across a noisy room the way a far-field speaker does. It's one device on one desk, and answers take a beat: a short one usually takes tens of seconds.

No. There's no wake word. The microphone is only on after you tap it, while the button blinks red, and for 15 seconds at most.

No. There's no cloud account at all. Setup happens on the touchscreen.
